Dr. Groff did a combo C02/Fraxel super intensive laser treatment on my face a year and half or so ago to treat acne scarring. I must have gone to 6 or 7 consultations before deciding on this clinic. I was terrified of screwing up my face. I probably waited nearly two years before deciding to swallow my nerves and start seeking out the right clinic. Luckily, I found it. They made me feel really supported throughout pre-op, during the procedure and post-op. I've been very happy with the results.
I had fairly deep acne scars that have definitely become significantly less noticeable. My boyfriend comments from time to time that he too definitely has seen a positive change in the way my skin looks compared to when we met. I don't have model-perfect skin at this point, but that not a realistic goal. I do, however, have relatively much smoother skin, and for that I'm very happy. (As a note, I'm a very fair skinned white male.)

When I was on the ventilator back in March of 2020, the good doctors at Scripps had me lay on my stomach to help drain the fluids from my lungs. Unfortunately, my face laid on my ventilator tube for 3 weeks, causing a scar from necrosis on the left side of my cheek. (I don't blame the nurses for not wanting to touch me at that time.) I tell you this because I am totally observed the facility at Cosmetic laser Dermatology is very high tech, sterile, they use PPE their emergency medical equipment is up to date and they use Covid precautions. Just wanted to give a shout out to my favorite Dr. Groff! Been going to him for years now for laser and more recently Botox. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than other places, however, I can definitely say that I have gotten significantly better results with Dr. Groff and Cosmetic Laser Derm than anywhere else I have tried (I have been getting treatments for facial veins since I was very young so I have had my fair share of experiences). I showed up at Dr. Groff’s Office desperate and badly burned by another laser procedure at another office. My face was so bad and had so many things going wrong. Dr. Groff was so nice and calm and so was his office staff. I was in such despair and ready to have a mental breakdown at this point. I was unhappy with the hollow & creepy area underneath my eyes. I had Restylane done in 2016 and it resulted in lumps, so I had it resolved about a month later. I had a pretty noticeable blue vein under my right eye that really bothered me. I would cover it up with concealer but felt like I could still see it. It almost looked like I had slept funny and had a weird shadow/crease in the area.

I just want to take the time to say THANK YOU Dr. Groff!! He has done amazing work. Just at the beginning of my treatments, but I am already satisfied with the results. Let's just say being African American I have very sensitive skin, it has been hard for me to find a doctor that was able to take care of my folliculitis, so over the years my skin has taken many hits with those playing "Doctor" with laser treatments and skin regiments, as a result over the years my skin has become very think damaged. I am glad to say that the Laser he has used has been very beneficial. He was knowledgeable about my treatment and the effectiveness. I wanted all this stuff done, but he did a good job at "keeping it real" to not further damage my skin. Dr. Groff showed that he cared, he educated me that although I want quick results, for the best benefit I need to take baby steps, I believe he couldn't have been more right. I had my first treatment for my acne scars and the process went very smoothly! I sat in a calming room for an hour waiting for the numbing cream to fully activate and then Dr.Groff's staff assisted me to where the treatment would actually take place. The procedure itself was very quick; it stung very very little and at the end I was left with just a little redness. Like a small sunburn. It's been about 6 weeks and I am going back for my second treatment. Can't wait for the results. I see a small change, my scars were mild, but it will take about 4-6 treatments depending on how the healing goes. The office is clean and the people are friendly. They are also very military friendly! Highly recommended!

I am very impressed with cosmetic laser dermatology and would recommend them to family and friends. From the moment I walked in to the last minutes before I left, the staff was courteous and helpful. From the secretary who checked me in and gave me free samples, to the medical assistant who was by my side reassuring me. I felt confident and comfortable the entire time. I can't say enough about Dr.Groff. Not only is he the Very best at what he does. He is professional yet approachable. He has over 16 years of experience and his bedside manor is finely tuned. He was patient with me and took the time to answer ALL my questions and concerns. I never felt rushed. He has a great sense of humor which helped ease my nerves. At one point I needed to speak further with him and he promptly came back to my room to go over information again. The produce was quick and easy and relatively painless. Nurses were by my side the entire time ensuring my comfort. They did thorough post care education with me and sent me on my way with everything I needed to take care of myself at home. I received a follow up phone call the next day to check on my progress. I had something come up and had to change my appointment time and they were kind and flexible. I am looking forward to my post op visit with dr.Groff and interested in pursuing other treatments. If you want the best in lasers go see doctor Groff. You won't be sorry. And just a tidbit of advice. If you are having a same day procedure make sure to bring a hat/sunglasses because you could leave red or slightly swollen.

Yesterday I had a harmless but annoying cherry angioma-type growth on my upper lip removed by Dr. Groff. The procedure was easy and pretty painless and I can already see the growth going away. Dr. Groff and Isabelle were amazing - so kind and patient - they really took the time to make sure I understood my options.
I also had a biopsy done for a new growth on my chest that popped up right after my WA dermatology appointment. I thought that it was another cherry angioma but it appears to be a bit more troublesome. I met in the doctor's office to discuss what was recommended but unfortunately all that I needed done exceeded my budget. Dr. Groff was able to eliminate procedures that were not highly needed at the time and focus on procedures that would yield the best results. After the procedure, the assistant was thorough in helping me to understand what I needed to do at home, how long recovery would take, and what steps I needed to take to maximize results. After several weeks, Dr. Groff saw that some of the procedure could be redone for additional benefit which he did quickly and at no additional charge.

He is so easy to talk to, he explains all of the procedures, how they work, what your options are, and then works - surprise- with your lifestyle, budget, etc. I will continue to see Dr. Groff and his competent staff and work with him to continue fighting father time. Yes, it's a little more expensive to get a laser treatment here, absolutely. But, they have the most experience in all of san diego. If someone is going to laser beam my face, yeah, I want the man or woman who has done this a few times before, not the temporary medical assistant who just completed the online course and hooked up with groupon. This office and staff are amazing and highly trained and they are worth the money because of the extra mile they go for their patients. I had a laser for my melasma and they followed up with for 4 months afterwards and even added additional treatments for me while I was healing. One day after the procedure was done DR. Groff called to see how I was doing. That in itself it worth 10 stars!
